Reducing Greenhouse Gases
Commercial Bioenergy
Biofuels are a carbon-neutral energy source. Carbon is taken up from the atmosphere during plant growth, and released when the plant matter is burned to be taken up again as new plant growth occurs. Unused waste wood fibre from forestry operations will return its carbon to the atmosphere whether it is burned on a slash pile or decomposes. Bioenergy simply captures available energy from this natural biological cycle.
